Our Mission
The Friends of Mount Rogers supports the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area (NRA) and its heritage through education, cooperation and volunteer service.

Here are a few of the ways we help:
We help provide vital staffing along the Virginia Creeper Trail and at the Pat Jennings Visitor Center.
We provide necessary funding for projects in the NRA that may otherwise go undone and unfunded.
We hold roadside clean-up days and trail work days in in the NRA.
We help to publish interpretive maps and pamphlets for trails throughout the NRA.
We supply books, maps, and other goods for sale in visitor centers in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.
We provide meals and picnics honoring volunteers who come to the NRA to give their time.
We promote environmental education and a love for the out of doors.
